Deposits and balances

 

A non refundable deposit is required to secure a session. Should the client cancel the session. the deposit will be transferred to an alternative session date, but a further request to change the session may result in the forfeit of the deposit.

In the event that the photographer has to cancel the session, another date will be offered. Alternatively, liability shall be limited to a refund of any monies paid.

The balance must be paid on the day of the session.

Co-operation

​

The photographer cannot be held responsible for the actions or behaviour of any parties involved in the shoot which may affect the outcome. In the event of unco-operative children or babies, I may not be able to capture the images the client requested.

Client image use and copyright

​

The photographs taken by Jill Maclachlan Photography are protected by copyright law. Digital files remain the property of the photographer but will be supplied to the client for personal use only, this means that the client may reproduce images digitally or in print for their own use or for sharing with friends and family. The client reserves the right to share and post images on social media but must not edit in any way. 

Commercial use is not permitted without written permission from the photographer, this includes publication, marketing or selling for profit.

The client grants the photographer unrestricted rights to use and publish images in any manner or medium, including, but not limited to, social media, website, competition etc. If the client wishes to keep the images private please inform the photographer prior to the shoot.

Raw images

Raw images will never be supplied. The client will receive images that have been edited at the discretion of the photographer.

Limit of liability

​

In the unlikely event that photographs are lost, stolen or destroyed for reasons beyond our control, liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the session. Limit of liability for a partial loss will be prorated based on the percentage lost.

Printing

​

Print release is provided which permits the client to print the images as they wish, and as many times as they wish. However the photographer cannot be held responsible for poor quality prints or other products, including poor colour, cropping, or any issues that alter image quality due to using a third party printing lab.. To maintain quality it is recommended to avoid supermarket and high street stores for printing. If you prefer, the photographer can provide prints via a professional lab but this will incur additional costs for the products.

It is a condition of booking that the client accepts the above terms and conditions.
